Season 1, Ep. #1. Anne-Lise Bouffioux, Founder of Pop'Kidz - “I found myself”
Anne-Lise is a creative. However, despite her SHOUTING passion for textiles, she does not see how to live from her passion and begins studying communication. She flourishes in this professional path, but this little voice does not leave her…
After the end of her pregnancy and the beginning of her motherhood were threatened by pre-eclampsia, Anne-Lise discovered the wonders (and the downsides!) of motherhood.
Then one night, after noticing that his daughter no longer fit into her clothes, everything aligned in his head. She was going to be able to reconcile her passion for styling, her taste for marketing, and contribute in her own way to passing on a better world to her daughter... by finding herself again.
From his career, I remember several things:
- Even in paths that at first glance seem thwarted or atypical, there is a common thread. One night, her dreams of fashion design, her taste for creativity, and her professional experience in marketing came together to form her entrepreneurial project, where each aspect of her personality could finally take its place.
- Listen to your body, especially during a time like pregnancy. If she had ignored her body's signals, Anne-Lise would probably have missed a diagnosis that may have saved her life and that of her baby.
- And, last but not least, I greatly admire Anne-Lise for her resilience and her audacity. Coming out of burnout, giving birth with preeclampsia, becoming a mother during covid, giving up a salaried job to start her own business, in line with her values... She inspires me enormously, and I hope she will inspire you too.
I loved recording this episode with Anne-Lise, I hope you like it as much as I did!
Since the episode was recorded over a year ago, we'll meet up at the end for Anne-Lise to tell us what's happened to her and her business since then. I hope you enjoy listening!
⚠ Trigger warning ⚠
Preeclampsia is a serious pregnancy-related condition characterized by high blood pressure and protein in the urine. It can occur in the second half of pregnancy (after 20 weeks) and last up to 8 weeks after delivery.
If you feel unwell, have ringing in your ears, headaches, a feeling of knots in your stomach: go see your doctor.
Preeclampsia is treatable and tests are being developed to detect it.
